OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCING THE TITLE OF THE UPCOMING DJ BOWLER HAT DOUBLE ALBUM!!!!
The new album will be titled It Was All A Dream. The first half of the album (Only '90s Kids Will Remember This) will be a collection of assorted mashups almost entirely based around the '90s. The second half will be an unbroken, continuous album-long mashup called Fair Use. The cover art for this is the cover art for the double album in full. (Additionally, if anyone has any good ideas for cover art for Fair Use, I'd definitely be down for suggestions, especially since I already have some AMAZING cover art for Only '90s Kids Will Remember This.)
To celebrate my progress on the album, I wanted to share a brief sampler of 10 of my favorite mashup pairings/segments on the album. (Mashups will most likely be more well-polished/cohesive in the final album. This sampler is a work-in-progress.) Below is the list of each pairing in order. Enjoy!
1. M.O.P. - Ante Up / Chad VanGaalen - Phantom Anthills
2. Electric Light Orchestra - Telephone Line / Ludacris ft. Mystikal and I-20 - Move Bitch
3. Anamanaguchi - Another Winter / Ice Cube - It Was A Good Day
4. Chris Brown ft. Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne - Look At Me Now / Furries in a Blender - King of the Ring AC2013 RMX
5. Everything Everything - Get to Heaven / Usher ft. Lil Jon and Ludacris - Yeah! / PSY - Gangnam Style
6. Sufjan Stevens - They Are Night Zombies!! They Are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back from the Dead!! Ahhhh! / Big Sean ft. E-40 - I Don't Fuck With You
7. Gorillaz ft. De La Soul - Feel Good Inc. / NAH - cackled, urinated
8. The Cure - Just Like Heaven / Death Grips - Come Up and Get Me
9. Kanye West and Jay-Z - N***as in Paris / Petula Clark - Downtown
10. Adele - Rumour Has It / Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl
(P.S. You might wanna keep your eyes peeled for a taste of how the mashups will sound all put together later this week...)
(P.P.S. I really really REALLY love Combo #7 and really really REALLLLLLLYYY wanna play it while DJing in a club or something because it sounds like it's made for that kind of atmosphere.)
